Welcome to the memorial page for

Mildred E. (McInnis) Robertson

August 3, 1926 ~ October 9, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Mildred E. Robertson (nee McInnis), age 91, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017. Mildred was the beloved wife of the late George B. Robertson, loving mother of Kenneth (Jane), George (deceased), Earlene (Les), Charles (Sonia), Mary (Bob), Margaret, John, and Bernadette (Brian). She was the loving grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and Aunt Mildred to many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is survived by 2 sisters, Earlene of Stuart, Florida and Rosalie of the Villages, Florida, along with two sister in-laws, Dorothy and Nancy McInnis.

Mildred was born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts. It was there she developed her deep commitment to faith, family, and her love for roller-skating. Her marriage to George in 1949 brought her to Long Island, New York where for 20 years they raised their eight children. After a few years in Atlanta, they settled in Berea, Ohio in 1971 until their retirement in 1986. From there, they spent their last thirty years splitting time between Stuart, Florida and Berea, Ohio.

Mildred had many friends from all walks of life. Mildred loved everyone, but was especially fond of children. She always had books, crayons, and hot wheels on hand for any and all young ones for any occasion. The $2 dollar bill remained in circulation thanks to Mildred’s penchant for distributing them as gifts for all.

She loved to shop, read, play games (she was very competitive) and collect items of interest. She especially loved to share stories with family and friends…sometimes even with complete strangers. Her ability to whip up a feast for 2 to 25 never ceased to amaze. Mildred will always be remembered for her strong faith and random acts of kindness that touched and affected all that met her.

No Visitation. Memorial mass will be held on Saturday October 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mary’s Church in Berea, 250 Kraft Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134.
