Richard Willet Obituary

RICHARD A, “Dick” WILLET, 82, passed away on June 7th.  Dick was born on June 1, 1936 in Berea, Ohio. He graduated from Olmsted Falls High School in 1954 and went on to attend Kent State University where he met his future wife, Rachel Shattuck.  He began his business career managing his family’s lumber company - The Dover Lumber Company in Bay Village, Ohio. Upon the sale to CEI, he joined the management training program of the National City Bank in Cleveland.  His 27-year banking career progressed with Society Corporation where he became corporate loan administrator, chief administrator of affiliate banks and ultimately the CEO of Society Bank of Eastern Ohio, N.A.  He served as a member of the board of Altman Hospital, Mount Union College and the United Way.  He retired in 1990 and split his time between his homes in Canton, Ohio and Anna Maria Island, Florida.  He enjoyed playing golf and tennis with his wife and spending time with his family. Dick was a long time resident of Olmsted Falls. He served on the board of the Olmsted Falls Community Church and was active with the Kiwanis and Booster clubs for many years.  He was elected into the Olmsted Falls High School Hall of Fame in 2000.  He was married to the love of his life Rachel for 61 years. He is survived by his wife Rachel, his sons Lee (Kathryn) in Boynton Beach, FL and Dan (Lori) in Broadview Heights, OH and his four grandchildren -  Spencer, Marshal, Kaylee and Taylor.
