Virginia Olivares (nee Kiriakos) age 78 passed away peacefully on June 15, 2019 with her family at her bedside. She is survived by her children Phyllis Wasikowski, Patty Carper, John (Randy Hatfield), Dennis (Lisa), Lisa Ayyash (Ali), Sue Alloway (Rick), Leah Berish (Dan), Karen Popil (Jeff Gilmer), Megan Long, and Donna Drake whom she raised like her own daughter. Also survived by her 20 grandchildren, Jordan, Joseph, Jennifer, Jaimie, Richard, Shana, Roberta, Philip, Tricia, Eric, Makenzie, Madison, Hassan, Skylar, Stephanie, Andrew, Ricky, Amanda, Morgan, and Brice. And her 12 great grandchildren, Aliyah, Ryan, Ryana, Mattie, Mercedes, Gage, Owen, Carter, Alexis, Antonio, Lily and Philip Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents Philip and Helen Kiriakos (nee Donovan), sister Helen Kiriakos, ex-husband Humberto John Olivares, and granddaughter Nejla Ayyash.
Virginia was born on March 21, 1941 in New York City and made Ohio her home in 1966. She was a strong woman who raised nine children in Berea, Ohio. She was an avid sports fan and loved her Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers. She watched every televised game or listened in on the radio. She was an active member of her residence building's board and enjoyed her duties there. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great joy in buying them little gifts. Friends may call on TUESDAY 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the BAKER FUNERAL HOME 206 FRONT STREET BEREA, OHIO 44017 where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Woodvale Cemetery.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
