Dorothy Louise (Lutz) Purdy, 102, of Berea, OH passed away on October 24, 2025. Born to Frederick and Lucy Lutz in Neptune, OH in 1923, she joined brothers Gene and Jack and later welcomed sisters Carolyn and Phyllis. They enjoyed their childhood in Lima, OH. In 1944, she married Robert Purdy who was serving in the Navy in California. While in San Diego, she worked at Consolidated Aircraft to support the war effort. In 1948, they relocated to Berea where they raised their family and celebrated 64 years of marriage until his death in 2008. Dorothy was an original and longtime member of Grace Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she served on several committees and attended many Bible studies. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Bob; brothers Gene Lutz and Jack Lutz and sister Carolyn Vittur. She is survived by her son David (Ann) Purdy and daughter Christine Purdy (Matthew) Reese; sister Phyllis K'Meyer; 5 grandchildren: Ben, Hannah, Paul (Meredith) Carolyn (Paul) and Lynn (Max); 8 great-grandchildren: TJ, Reagan, Drew, Avery, Reese, Scout, Daisy and Taylor. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 7393 Pearl Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH. Family will receive visitors from 1-2 pm with the service following immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Church Missions Fund or Cypress Hospice, 2 Berea Commons #1, Berea, OH or Berea Kiwanis.
