George Leon
Croston
Aug 16, 1944 — May 4, 2022
Cleveland
George Croston was born August 16, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Gwendyl L Croston and Elizabeth C (Kennedy) Croston.
George grew up in Cleveland, Oh during the school year but spent his summers and any other chance he got, in Southern Ohio on his grandparents farm helping them. George enlisted in the United States Air Force right after high school. Upon completion of service, he returned back to Cleveland where he'd start a family and a career.
George met the love of his life and married Sandra Mayle in June of 1969. From this union, a family of three were born: (sons) Garron, Chris and (daughter) Beth. George has one granddaughter, Layla whom is loved dearly. While raising a family, George held employment as a faithful and dedicated employee as a machine operator at General Motors (Parma, OH), which he retired from in 2001.
Family is a top priority in the Croston home. He loved traveling to Southern Ohio to spend time away from the city with his family and friends on their property; which was renamed the "Blue House" by his granddaughter, Layla.
If you knew George, you'd know he loved the outdoors. It was something about hunting and fishing that brought a smile to his face; along with good conversations from his friends. Over the years, George's children also acquired that same joy that was shared with their father.
George is survived by his wife Sandy, three children Garron, Chris and Beth, and granddaughter Layla. George has one sibling Phylis (Raymond) Harding. George also leaves behind 3 nephews, a host of family and many beloved friends.
On behalf of the Croston family, we thank you for your prayers and condolences.
