John J.
Wargo Jr.
Jun 19, 1948 — Oct 24, 2026
Strongsville
John Wargo was a man who never met a stranger, and rarely passed up an opportunity for good conversation. With a big personality, a jovial spirit, and a generous heart, John had a way of engaging people and making an impression wherever he went.
Whether enjoying a round of golf, savoring a good cigar, lingering over a cup of coffee, or enjoying fine dining with a glass of Crown Royal Black, John appreciated the pleasures of life and, most of all, the people who made them special.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, John was a resident of Strongsville for more than 30 years. He dedicated his professional life to the practice of law with Wargo & Wargo Co., LPA, where he served as an attorney until his retirement in 2026.
Beyond his career, John will be remembered for his generosity, his willingness to stand up for what was right, and his gift for storytelling. As a Dad, he brought that same strong will, humor and loving personality to family life. He enjoyed a good conversation and brought an unmistakable energy to the people and gatherings that mattered to him. Above all, he was a Dad whose influence and presence will live on in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his wife of, 48 years of marriage, Marlene Wargo; parents, John J. Wargo Sr. and Anne Wargo; his brother, Michael Wargo; and his sister, Joanne Wargo-Gilcrease.
He is survived by his children, Kellie Wargo, Scott Wargo, and Jacob Wargo; his grandchildren, Avery Wargo and Emery Wargo; and his brother, Frank Groh-Wargo.
John leaves behind memories, stories, and the kind of personality that will not soon be forgotten. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family is grateful for the love and support of all who cared for John. His children will honor his life privately, with no public services planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward's High School. John was involved with many years of alumni involvement, and made a positive impact with the school community https://www.sehs.net/giving/overview
