William (Bill) Edmund Heidinger of Columbia Station, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on July 29, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born on May 1, 1935 in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Jean; his children, Craig Heidinger (Shawn), Jody Hezoucky (Frank), Bob Hershey (Kathy), and Randy Hershey, brothers Pete Heidinger, Bob Heidinger, Don Heidinger, Roland Heidinger, Mark Heidinger, and sisters Janet Carroll and Gayle Plum. Preceded in death by mother, Doris Heidinger, his brother Raymond Heidinger, and sisters Debbie Skarupa, Mary Mullee, and Linda Britton. He was adored by his grandchildren Julie Pyle, Ryan Hershey, Adam Hershey, Derek Hezoucky, Brandon Heidinger, and Deven Hezoucky, and many great grandchildren. He was a custodian for Columbia Schools for 30 years and worked for the Columbia Township service department for 20 years. He dedicated his life to coaching many youth sports teams as well as service to the community, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was the Columbia High School varsity softball head coach. He was also active in the Columbia Athletic Boosters and was inducted to the Columbia Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. Services will be held at Baker Kensinger Funeral Home, located at 206 Front Street, Berea, Ohio. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at Columbia Cemetery, 26025 Royalton Road, Columbia Station, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Bill Heidinger's name to the Columbia Township Firemen's Association.
