Bernice Theresa (Matelski) Andrews-Pochatek, 92 years young, was born on December 30, 1930, in Berea, Ohio to Vincent and Helen Matelski. She passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023. She was the youngest of four sisters: Genevieve, Pearl and Bettie.
Bernice will be forever loved and missed by her surviving sons, Charles (Kim) Andrews of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Terry (Michelle Harr) Andrews of Dublin, Ohio and daughter Cheryl (Brent) Lykens of Zionsville, Indiana. grandchildren: Jennifer (Will) Markovich, Jordan, Geoffrey (Rebecca), Spencer and Colin (Vita) and great grandchildren, stepchildren: David (Ginny), Dale (Noreen), Dianne (Barry), Donald and Deborah (Steve), grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, notable brother-in law Stanley Andrews and many great and loving friends.
Bernice will always be remembered as having a strong work ethic like her parents. She was devoted to her Catholic faith. She never met a stranger that she did not know. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, always looked forward to traveling, loved dancing a fast polka, and most of all being with family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Edward Andrews and Walter Pochatek, she was also preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Andrews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday October 22, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front Street, Berea, Ohio 44017
A Memorial Mass, Monday October 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Falls Church, 25615 Bagley Road, Olmsted Falls 44138
