Obituary
Carol A. Thompson, 84, passed away peacefully July 7, 2023, at the Ames Hospice of the Western Reserve. Dr. Thompson was the daughter of Hazel and Werner Thompson and is survived by her cousin, John Franklin (Jackie) and her beloved friend of 52 years, Carol Heskett. Dr. Thompson was educated at Otterbein College (BA), The University of Illinois (MA), and The Ohio State University (Ph.D). Her professional life was devoted primarily to teaching at Baldwin-Wallace University where she was a member of the Women's Health and Physical Education Department for many years, followed by serving as the Associate Academic Dean until her retirement. Dr. Thompson enjoyed many outdoor activities in her spare time, such as golf, tennis, camping, and trips to Maine and Florida. Her generosity to charities knew no bounds. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Berea, 170 Seminary Street, where friends may gather for a memorial service on July 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lupus Foundation of America, The United Methodist Church of Berea, or a charity of choice.
