Condit Hewat Dibble (Dib) 86, born April 4, 1940 in Bennington, Vermont, passed away May 21, 2026 in Strongsville, Ohio.
Dib graduated from Emory University. He worked at Cleveland Cliffs for 30 years and retired in 2000 to spend more time on the golf course – a lifelong passion of his.
Dib was a paradox. On the outside, a happy, quick to joke, amiable fella. Deep inside a devout Christian who didn't evangelize, rather a man who felt deeply about life but rarely expresses critical opinions. He was a steady presence to those who knew him, hard working, dependable and willing to lend a hand. Dib liked the simple things in life, a good meal, conversations with his friends and especially a day on the golf course.
Dib is survived by his wife Lynn and his children Judith Persinger (John) and Kimberly Daggy (John Mihevic), grandchildren Luke Persinger, Katalin Bone (Kyle), Samuel Daggy (Brenna), Aaron Daggy and Sarah Couser (Evan). Sister Ann Smith and step children Erica O'Malley and Leigh Moodt. Step grandchildren Devin Pfeiffer, Madison Moodt, Ella O'Malley and a host of beloved great grandchildren, family and friends.
He was precede in death by his parents Condit Humphrey Dibble and Judith Hewat Dibble, brothers Fred Allen, Richard Allen, George Allen Mark Dibble and sister Judy Sfikas.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Berea 170 Seminary St. Berea, Ohio where a luncheon will be held following services.
