Debbie was a devoted wife, caring sister, cherished aunt, and steadfast woman of faith. For 47 wonderful years, she shared her life with her beloved husband, Stephen. Together, they built a life of kindness, faith, and love of family. Debbie passed away peacefully on June 5th, surrounded by those she loved.
Debbie’s heart was especially open to her nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her “Aunt Deb.” Her home was a sanctuary of love, filled with the warmth of baking, the sound of laughter, and the comfort of her embrace.
A passionate gardener, talented painter, and lover of botany and the stars, Debbie found peace and joy in God’s creation. Her strong faith shaped every part of her life — through church ministries, words of encouragement, and a faithful prayer life, she was a light to many.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Stephen, and her brothers, Vincent and Mitchell Sweeney. She was a loving sister-in-law to James (Eva), Edward (June), and Catherine Muhic. She leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews: Courtney (Mick) Warner, Christine (Mike) Abounader, Beth (Rob) Cavallaro, Jackie, Allie, Vicky, and Charlie Primisch, and Lucy Muhic. Debbie was also blessed to have two great-nephews, Aidan and Henry, and three great-nieces, Ella, Macy, and Emma.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Nelson and Betty, and her brother, Jeffrey Sweeney.
Debbie leaves behind a legacy of enduring love, faith, and gentle strength.
