Deborah Davidson Obituary

Our beloved Deborah A. Jennings Davidson passed from life to life on Friday, October 22, 2021. Deborah was born on March 24, 1956 to the union of Nettie Ruth Scott and the late Morris Jennings and was the oldest of three siblings.

Deborah grew up and flourished in the Cleveland area and graduated from Warrensville High School in 1974. She was always particularly enthused to tell anyone about her days as a Warrensville Tigers cheerleader!

She attended Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interpersonal and Public Communications. It was at Bowling Green that she met and married the love of her life, Gregory Davidson. At BGSU, her heart was also anchored in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in which she was part of the pledge line, “Electrifying Eleven” and crossed January, 17, 1976.

Her professional career included expertise in recruiting, training & development, instructional design, branch management, human resources and project management in retail, banking and financial serves industries.

Deborah was an integral part of her Church family, The Throne of David Missionary Baptist Church in Berea Ohio, where Rev. Beverly Lee, Jr. is the pastor. At the Throne, she served faithfully as Director of Evangelism, Sunday School Teacher, Intercessor and Trustee.

Deborah’s other heart’s passion was Christian Women In Action Ministries (CWA), Berea Ohio, of which she was a founding member and for nearly 30 years exercised faithful and godly stewardship over the finances of CWA. She was a prayer warrior and served as intercessor in the ministry of CWA.

Deborah had a passion to fight for social justice and had served on various committees to make a difference in her community and her family. This led to her involvement on the Executive Board of the Black Alumni Council (BAC) at Bowling Green University.

More importantly, her heart’s desire was to please God and to fulfill His plan and purpose for her life, and to be a blessing to the kingdom. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16. (KJV).

Deborah leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by her loving husband, Gregory Davidson, sons Brittney D. Davidson, Brenin A. Davidson; mother, Nettie Jennings, siblings Marlowe Jennings and Brent M. Jennings.

Deborah will be missed and loved by her family, extended family, and many, many friends.

Visitation will be at the Heritage Congregational Church 485 West St. Berea, Ohio from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. on Friday October 29 where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M.  Family is requesting everyone wear a mask.  Interment will be at the Woodvale Cemetery in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
