Desiree R. (Allen) Hardy

DESIREE RENEE HARDY (maiden, Allen), age 67 of Berea , Ohio, died peacefully, Friday, May 28, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Allen and Ireta G. Allen. Desiree was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 13, 1955, and was a lifelong member of St. Malachi Parish in Cleveland, Ohio, where she also attended the Urban Community School. She was Baptized and received Confirmation at St. Joseph’s Church in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from John Marshall High School in Cleveland. She would then graduate from Cleveland State University and Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. She finalized her post-education with a Master’s degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. For more than 25 years, Desiree taught elementary age students at various Cleveland, Ohio public schools. She loved her profession as a teacher and was thrilled to finally get the assignment to teach 4th grade history at Riverside Elementary school in Cleveland, Ohio. She loved every student she taught and was so loved by them as well. She was the loving mother of Erin and Matthew Hardy whom she loved dearly. In addition to her children, she leaves behind sisters, Ki Allen and Jolynn (Allen) Mata. She joins her mother, Ireta Allen, brothers, Kenneth and Derek Allen, Grandmother Helen and Grandfather Sinclair Christopher, and Aunt Thelma and Uncle Joseph Ford who passed before her. Also left behind is her loving companion, Ronn Hardy, Jorge Mata, Jolynn Mata’s husband and their children; Javier and Jeily Mata, her late brother Kenny’s children; Kayla Buchanan, Xavier, Quinten and Austin Allen, and her late brother Derek’s wife, Rachel Allen and their son, Gabriel Allen and half-sister, Giselle, and a host of cousins and second-cousins. Memorial Service Friday, June 10 at 9:30 am at St. Malachi Church, 2459 Washington Ave., Cleveland, Ohio, 44113.
