On Friday, July 16, 2021 Edna Thomason, beloved wife of the late Jack Thomason, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 90. Edna was born in 1930 in Brookpark, Ohio. She graduated from Berea High School in 1948. She married Jack Thomason in 1952 and they raised two children, Jack (Taisia) Thomason and Joyce (Miran) Dolinar. She was a widow for 34 years. She had two sisters, Velda Brinkman and Eunice (Steve) Boguski, that preceded her in death and her youngest brother, Robert Earl Brinkman. She loved her brother, Edwin (Jean) Brinkman that currently resides in Strongsville. She has 4 grandchildren, Evan (Hanna) Dolinar, Elise Dolinar, Jaclyn (Ryan) Kana and Wesley Thomason. Edna was a devoted mother and wife and still managed to work outside of the house, but was always home to meet her children after school. She worked at Ohio School Pictures for many years and later served guests at Bucci’s of Berea. She loved her mother, Ruby (Edward) Brinkman very much and saw her daily. Edna was an avid roller skater her entire life and even skated into her early 80’s. She attended the Berea United Methodist Church for 65 years. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 91 for 50 plus years serving in every office. She loved marching in the Memorial Day parades and supporting the Veterans. Edna volunteered for more than 25 years every Friday for Meals on Wheels. Never missing a Friday even during the coldest winter days. Edna was active in the Red Hat Society, Bowling league and the Berea Rec Senior Center. She loved to travel and took two transatlantic trips on the Queen Elizabeth 2 with her son. She took trips to Hawaii, California, New York City and Florida. She loved to go out for dinner and socialize. But her family always came first! She had good humor and her friends loved to be around her. She Skated with Robert Prah for many years and enjoyed his company and had an active social life until his passing several years ago.
