Emily Rose (Hill) Shaffer

EMILY  ROSE  SHAFFER, (nee Hill), age 91, beloved wife of the late Jan, loving mother of Clark (Diana), Sally Bestor (Donald), Mark, and Scott, dear grandmother of five, great grandmother of seven, sister of the late Dorothy Pomerson, Hazel Orwig, Alice Broud, and Lester Hill.

As a young girl, Emily astonished family and friends with her undeniable and spirited talent as a pianist. With little formal training, she began playing at church, accompanying bands, and performing solo as a professional. Customarily playing only by ear and by memory, Emily Rose’s nimble hands (fingernails always polished) and engaging smile (lipstick always donned) blessed her countless fans with her uncanny ability to recall their favorite songs. She will always be remembered for her prowess on the piano, her undying affinity for card and board games, her great generosity, her faith in Jesus, and her love for her family.

Celebration of Life, Saturday, March 26 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.  at North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church, 5665 Great Northern Blvd, North Olmsted, Ohio, 44070, where a Memorial Service will be held at the church at 2:00 p.m.
