Emma Jean Patton (nee-Thompson) passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on February 23, 1937, in Sullivan, Ohio, Emma lived a life full of love, kindness, and care for those around her. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warm presence touched the lives of everyone she met.
Emma was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Patton, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they enjoyed traveling and especially loved going on cruises, creating many unforgettable adventures.
She was a proud mother to her three children: Dennis Patton (Tricia), Connie Arndt (John-deceased), and David Patton (Andrea). Emma found her greatest joy in being with her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
Emma loved to bake, and her pies, cakes, and cookies became a centerpiece of family gatherings, creating sweet traditions that will be fondly remembered for years to come.
A celebration of Emma’s life will be held on February 19, 2025 at the BAKER, KENSINGER FUNERAL HOME 206 FRONT ST. BEREA. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Memorial service starting at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Columbia Community Foundation, honoring the kind and thoughtful person Emma was.
