Evelyn R. (Prince) Smith

Evelyn R. Smith, 86, of Hudson, Ohio, formerly of Brecksville, OH, passed away on May 4, 2020. Evelyn cherished family and faith at her core. While she showered us with love, laughter, and sass; she is finally reunited with her love.

Born on March 28, 1934, to Tony and Angelina Prince in Warren, Ohio. Evelyn graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. It was in Warren where Evelyn met Thaddeus Smith. They married in 1955. In 1959, they moved to Brecksville, Ohio, raising their two sons and embracing their community. She was often found in the pews of St. Basil the Great, praying for the health of all.

Evelyn had quick wit, a hearty laugh and a smart mouth, but most of all she had a fierce love of family. She relished family dinners, sleepovers, and breakfast dates at McDonald’s. No doubt she is pinching tushies in heaven.

She is survived by: her sons, Timothy and Kevin (Beverly); grandchildren Megan Sell (Josh), Colleen Stankovic (Branko), Thaddeus Smith (Harley), Matthew Johnson, and Brendan Smith; great-grandchildren Hailey, Olivia, and Lucija. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus, her parents, and her siblings. Due to the unique times, all services are private. When the time is right, the family will have a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil the Great, Brecksville, Ohio.
