Gary A. Carlsen

Gary Alan Carlsen of Strongsville, OH, age 88, died Thursday, December 19, 2024. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2024 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 50 E Bagley Rd., Berea, OH.

Gary was born January 8, 1936 in Moline, IL, the son of Paul John and Ruth (Carlson) Carlsen. He married Marlene Simmons in Ubly, MI on April 19, 1958.

Gary graduated from General Motors Institute in Flint, MI in 1957 and continued his career as a Mechanical Engineer until his retirement.

Gary was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church. He enjoyed traveling, skiing, camping, fishing and playing tennis, but not golf!

Gary is survived by: wife Marlene; 3 children, Joy and husband Curt Winters of Tincup, CO, Kirk and wife Jasmine (Radenkov) of Euclid, OH, Craig and wife Linda (Leamon) of Swansboro, NC; 3 grandsons, Matthew and wife Molly, Jacob and wife Allie, and Brian; 5 great-grandsons, Mason, Daniel, Sawyer, Ben and Teddy.
