On Sunday November 3rd, 2024 Gary Warren Snell, age 81, a beloved husband, father, grandfather passed peacefully to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 18:24
Gary survived by his devoted wife Sharon Snell, sister Jean Heidinger and his cherished children: Robin (Tom), Rachel, Rebecca (Andrew), Christian (Christine), Leah Beth (Newton), Aaron (Shauna), Joel (Sarah), Anna (Jeremy). As well as his adored 33 grandchildren and spouses. Preceded in death by his beloved daughter Bethany.
Born on January 23, 1943. He was raised in Columbia Station, Ohio and graduated from Columbia High School, class of 1961.
A proud Veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years during the Vietnam War.
Gary dedicated 36 years of his life to teaching elementary and middle school. He never ceased having a passion for learning. He graduated from Michigan State University and had his Masters of Education through Cleveland State University.
He shared the love of Jesus throughout his whole life. He found personal joy in gardening, traveling, camping, and museums.
He will be deeply missed by his loved ones. Many selfless acts of service will not soon be forgotten. His legacy of family will carry on for generations to come.
Monday, November 25th there will be an intimate celebration of life service at 2pm for family and friends. Please join our family from 3:00 - 6:00 pm for an open house time to remember Gary and fellowship together at the Columbia Baptist Church 25514 Royalton Rd, Columbia Station, OH 44028. In lieu of flowers, house plants would be appreciated to be shared amongst the family members in memory of Gary’s love for gardening.
