GLORIA JEAN APPLEBY was born on January 7, 1942, to Frank and Gladys (Kessel) Howland, in Lakewood, Ohio. She peacefully passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at 81 years of age. A devoted life companion of Homer Lemon, they spent their later years in Brunswick, Ohio. She was a beloved mother to Rick Appleby, Jess Appleby, Laurie (Rick) Dales, Michele (late Frank) Chismody, Gloria (George) Turner, and Fred (Amber) Appleby. She was a cherished grandmother to Lisa Pietrzycki, Megan Laycock, Corey Dales, Randy Turner, Frank Chismody, Keith Chismody, Brittney McCashland, Kayla Patterson, Jennifer Appleby, and Skyler Appleby. Gloria was also a great-grandmother to 19 beautiful souls. She was the dear sister of Linda Sprong, late Janet Frish, and Terry Howland. Memorial Service, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Baker-Osinski-Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front Street, Berea, Ohio, 44017, where friends may gather Thursday from 2:00-4:00 pm.
Gloria's life was marked by the deep love she had for her family, and she cherished the moments spent together during family gatherings. Her passion for floral design, gardening, and various crafts reflected her creative spirit. Gloria found joy in the simplicity of camping and had a special place in her heart for the soulful tunes of bluegrass music. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and creativity. For several years, Gloria was a member at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3505 Brunswick, Ohio. Gloria will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty and love she brought into the lives of those around her.
