Dr. Harlan Ernest Knautz PhD., born: 11/07/1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Rev. Dr. Ernest Knautz and Charlotte Wilkens Knautz. He is proceeded in death by his Sister Lynette Knautz Hesche and Brother in Law Neal Hesche. He graduated Berea High School with academic honors and was a state ranked tennis player. He attended Baldwin Wallace University with academic honors, member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and was a club tennis player. He received a Doctorate Degree in History at the University of Denver where he worked as a professor's assistant. He wrote and Published a book entitled “Grant Reynard, N.A. An American Painter.” The book was so successful that it is still being sold on a national basis. He assisted his father Rev. Dr. Ernest Knautz in planning and constructing the beautiful Avon Methodist Church on Detroit Road, in Avon. Harlan Served as a Professor at Central Michigan University and Baldwin Wallace University. Harlan Suffered from severe Hemoglobin issues and was cared for many years by the absolutely wonderful Staff at Sycamore Run Nursing Home in Millersburg, OH. Recently he was placed in the hands of the Life Care Hospice personnel who provided excellent care to Harlan at the Sycamore Run facility during the final weeks of his life. Harlan passed on the 5th day of June. A graveside service will be hold on Friday June 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
