Henry R. Bass

Henry Roger Bass, age 74, died peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2020 at Northwestern Healthcare Center.

He was born on February 19, 1946 in Berea, Ohio to Henry and Bernice Bass. Roger was the eldest of three boys – lovingly known as: “Bunt’s Boys.”

Roger spent his formative years in Berea, Ohio where he attended Berea Public Schools, graduating from Berea High School in 1964. During those years he enjoyed playing baseball, football, he ran track and was an excellent skater.

Having a zeal for adventure and the finer things in life, Roger spent time living in: California, Las Vegas, New York, and Connecticut. Upon his return to Ohio, he worked at the I-X Center – Teamsters Local Union 507 where he retired. In addition to being a dedicated laborer, he also spent many years working in the landscaping industry.

He was a consummate lover of music, and seemed the most absorbed and happiest when engaged with his family, friends and favorite pastime.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife Joann Bass; mother: Bernice Richardson; his special aunt: Bert; children: Jackie Boyd; Latib Bass; siblings: Randy Bass, Darnell Bass, Tina Bass; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; and a host of relatives and friends too numerous to mention. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and his loss deeply felt by all.

Roger was preceded in death by his father: Henry Bass and son: Roger Bass, Jr.

The family of Roger Bass would like to express their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness extended to us during this very difficult period. Your cards, telephone calls, visits, food and most of all your prayers have been a tremendous source of comfort to us. Please continue to keep us in prayer.

Friends may call on Thursday November 5 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home 206 Front St. Berea, Ohio where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M.
