Jack Reeves Irey

JACK  REEVES  IREY, age 90, passed away November 3, 2022 in Olmsted Township.  Jack was born in Bluffton, IN and was a longtime resident of Berea and Brook Park.  Jack was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn (nee Tarr), and the loving father of Brenda Brown (Geoffrey) of Novelty, Sheila Eller of Olmsted Township, and the late Michael Irey.  He was the dear grandfather of Erin Eller (Adam Smith) of Wilmington, DE, Joseph Eller of Columbia, MD, and Griffin Brown of Chardon, and the loving companion of Helen Madis of Olmsted Township. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Vergil (nee Dyson) Irey, and his brothers, Joe and Garth Irey.  Jack was a retired chemistry teacher at Lakewood High School, Padua Franciscan High School, and Parma Sr. High School.  He enjoyed gardening and was known for the beautiful landscaping in his yard. His many friends remember his quick wit and thoughtfulness.  His faith was very important to him, and he was active in his church until his health no longer allowed it.  The funeral service will be held Friday, November 11 at 11:30 am at the United Methodist Church of Berea, 1170 Seminary Street, Berea, Ohio. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until 11:30 am (time of service) in the Church Chapel.  IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, donation may be made to the Church.
