Jack Edward Salsgiver of Berea, Ohio passed away of natural causes at the age of 81 on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Jack was born on February 7, 1944 in Youngstown, Ohio to Norval and Fanny Salsgiver.
He is survived by his son Steven Salsgiver and daughter-in-law Candice and his brother George Salsgiver. His wife Pennie Salsgiver followed Jack in death shortly after on Monday, January 12, 2026. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his five brothers Bob, Harold, James, Ralph, and Ray Salsgiver; and his three sisters Carolyn Bailey, Linda Slimmer, and Sandy Sanetrik.
Jack retired from Baldwin-Wallace College (now University) after more than 35 years as a High Pressure Boiler Operator with Buildings & Grounds. While his hobbies included woodworking and being a fan of all major Cleveland sports teams, his true passion in life was his family. Wedded on October 10, 1967 in Steuben County, Indiana, Jack and Pennie enjoyed 58 years of marriage. His devotion to his wife and son was absolute and without exception.
Calling hours for both Pennie and Jack Salsgiver will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 17 at Baker, Kensinger Funeral Home in Berea, Ohio.
