JAMES L. “BAPA” KASPER age 90,
Jim was born, to the late Rose and Leo Kasper, and raised in Berea, Ohio. As a young man, he proudly served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1952. He then began his career in the construction industry with Cleveland Builders Supply, and rounded out his career with Westview Concrete. Jim was a dedicated member of Kiwanis and an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Upon retirement in 1991, Jim and his beloved wife, Cynthia, moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida, where their home was a revolving door for family and friends.
Jim was a devoted father to his three daughters and lived for his many grandchildren. He cherished the time he spent with them and proudly got a tattoo on his arm and a matching license plate on his vehicle with “BAPA 10” to share his love of his family with the world. In 2015, Jim returned home to Berea to be closer to family.
Jim’s lively spirit, story telling, and “Jim-isms” will be missed by all who knew him.
He is the beloved husband of the late Cynthia, dear father of Kathie Hall (Michael), Karen Johncock (David) and Kim Schmitt (Michael), brother of the late Rosemary Moodt and Irene Gutzman, grandfather of Chris Lauren, Jennifer Diaz, Kelly Fadrowski, James Johncock, Jason Johncock, Lindsey Wall, Nick Hall, Parker Schmitt, Caitlyn Paulauskas and Michael James Hall, great grandfather of 27 and great great grandfather of one.
