Janet C (Picetti) Falcone

Janet Christine Picetti Falcone was born on October 22, 1950 in Orange, New Jersey and passed away in Westlake, Ohio on November 6, 2022, at the age of 72. Janet was the second of three daughters to Aldo and Jean Picetti. She grew up in North Caldwell, NJ and attended West Essex High School.  After graduating in 1968 Janet attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. Janet was a member of Chi Omega sorority and made several lifelong friends with her sorority sisters.  After graduating Wittenberg in 1972, the Chi-O sisters stayed in close contact, taking annual trips to NYC, often gathering their families together, and remained tightly bonded friends for life.  Janet and Paul married in 1976 and soon after, Michael Paul Falcone was born in 1978 and Peter Picetti Falcone was born in 1981.  The Falcones raised their sons in Randolph, NJ. While the boys were young, Janet was a devoted stay at home mother and then worked as assistant to the principal of Far Hills Country Day School for over 20 years.  A lifelong learner, Janet earned a Master of Arts degree in Literature from Drew University in 2014. In 2009 and 2011, Janet’s granddaughters, Sophia and Lucy Falcone were born. Janet will be remembered as the life of the party, an excellent cook and hostess,  a beloved wife to Paul, a loving mother to her sons and Nonna to her granddaughters. Janet  was preceded in death   by her husband, Paul S Falcone Jr., her mother, Jean Picetti, her father, Aldo Picetti . Surviving Janet are her two sons, Michael (Jane) Falcone and Peter (Susan Medrow) Falcone, granddaughters Sophia and Lucy Falcone, sisters Laura (Doug) Goepfert and Ellen (Marty) Powers, nieces Christine (Andy) Rontal and Robin (Charley) Walters and nephew Martin Powers, as well as 3 grand-nieces and 2 grand-nephews. The funeral services will be held on November 12 at 11:00AM at Grace Church, 6941 Columbia Rd., Olmsted Falls, Ohio. Flowers can be sent to the church
