Jeanne Green-Ulery Obituary

Schellenberger * Green * Ulery

Jeanne Marie Green-Ulery (nee Hutt)

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to her Savior peacefully on Friday April 2, 2021 at the age of 94.

Jeanne was born in Rochester, New York on December 12, 1926 to Eva Marie Hanlon and Robert William Hutt. She was orphaned at the age of 12, cared for by her aunt, Gladys Kilbane, until her graduation from Notre Dame Academy (Cleveland, Ohio) in 1945.

Jeanne married Russell Arthur Schellenberger in 1947. Together they raised six children Russell Paul, Diana Jeanne (Bradley), Roger William, Maureen Ann (Hopfinger), Michael Joseph and David Shaun. She and Russell had active careers in real estate, first as agents then as brokers until Russell’s death. She moved to the Sarasota/Bradenton area in the mid 1980s and called it home for the remainder of her life. Jeanne married twice more. First, Wilmer “Bill” Green and then Vern Ulery. These wonderful and sensitive men enriched her life.

Jeanne was a devout Catholic and served three parishes throughout her life: St. Mary’s of the Falls, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, and St. Joseph’s. Over her lifetime, she was devoted to food collection for the needy, educating youth, and caring for the sick through Hospice.

Jeanne was known for her sparkling blue eyes, engaging laugh and strong faith. She had a passion for people, travel and adventure going on numerous cruises and even learning to snow ski at the age of 65. While at home, she enjoyed activities such as playing golf and bridge. A vibrant member of her Florida community and condo association, she was part of a group of beloved friends called the “Dirty Dozen” who loved her ready wit. According to Jeanne, “it was 5 o’clock somewhere.” She enjoyed entertaining and organized numerous events including her legendary St. Patrick’s Day dinner dances. An avid music lover, she played the organ and loved to dance. She also cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husbands Russell, Bill, and Vern, brothers James Smith and Francis Hanlon, son Michael Schellenberger, grandson Matthew Schellenberger and great-grandson Amariah Bradley. She is survived by her children Russell Schellenberger, Diana Bradley, Roger Schellenberger, Maureen Hopfinger, and David Schellenberger; twelve grandchildren Jenifer, Jason, Darci, Jackie, Laura, Michael, Hannah, Dan, Ben, Amanda, Luke, Christopher; twelve great-grandchildren Sean, Makenzie, James, Ava, Mark, Katelyn, Henry, Devlin, Ellora, Sol, Adam, and Jennah.
