John Clarence Otto

(May 5, 1935 to March 11, 2025)

Son of the late Dinsmore David and Ada Marie (Smith) Otto. Brother of the late Jimmie David Otto.

Preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Jean (Wright) Otto. Wonderful loving father to Becky Jo Bert (Ken), Beth Ann Rippee (Randy), both of Olmsted Township, and the late Bruce Gordon, Brenda Lee and Brian Scot.

Grandfather to 8, Great Grandfather to 14 and Great Great Grandfather to 1.

John was born and raised in Powhatan Point, OH. After serving in the Army, he moved to the Cleveland area and made his career as Coordinator of ground operations at United Airlines. He made his home and raised his family in Olmsted Township. Among his hobbies were fishing, boating and gardening. He found great joy instilling his vast knowledge and wisdom upon his grandchildren. He relished the days of summer when he could watch his extended family, play and swim in his backyard pool.

Anyone that knew John would agree that our mighty oak has fallen. The landscape will never be the same.

Charitable contributions can made in the name of John Otto to St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Showing will be Friday March 14, 2025 at the Baker, Kensinger Funeral Home located at 206 Front St., Berea, OH from 9:00 to 10:30 AM where the Funeral service will follow 10:30 to 11:00. Interment and graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. in Powhatan Point, OH where he will be laid to rest in the Powhatan Point Cemetery.
