Kaye Donna Kathe (nee Karg), 89, passed away on September 21, 2025. Born in Lakewood, Ohio, she worked in the medical field and retired in 2004. She lived in Berea, Ohio since 2019.
Kaye became a registered nurse after having graduated from nursing school at Fairview Park Hospital in 1956. She was the class president! She’s worked at Maumee Valley Hospital and The Visiting Nurses Association before becoming a pharmaceutical representative. Her last position was Nursing Director of Integrity Health Care where she helped start the nursing program.
Kaye enjoyed many hobbies, including bird watching, knitting, sewing, crafting, and growing roses. She loved making keepsakes for her friends and family, including cross stitch, Christmas ornaments and anything fabric. She loved nature and always made driving through “The Valley” part of the ride whenever possible. She touched many lives with her caring and kindness. I can’t count the number of times I was told I have the most wonderful mother, and I have to agree. She will be missed by all!
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur Bowers Karg and June nee Bailey, her sister Susan (Dick) Champion, and husband Francis Fratus. She is survived by her children; James (Kathy) Eaton, Tracey (Jeff) Pennington Grandchildren; Jimmy Eaton Gonzalez, Megan Baillis, Sarah Pennington, Gabrielle Eaton and Graceanne Eaton and her great-grandchildren; Ishmael Eaton Gonzalez, Sofia Eaton Gonzalez, Alejandro Eaton Gonzalez, and Natalie Baillis.
