KENNETH THOMAS BOONE, 86, former resident of Youngstown, Ohio, raised in Salem and Massillon, OH, passed away October 31 at the American House of Macedonia. Boone was a veteran of the US Air Force and lifelong athlete, who retired from GM’s Lordstown security force and relocated to Rock Hill, SC with his beloved wife, the late Mary (McKinney) Boone, before returning to Ohio. He is survived by his children S. Jenise (Kim) Veris, Kenneth C. Boone, Kristin T. Boone, and Tamika Rhodes; stepdaughters Tracie Edwards and Cynthia LeVert; grandchildren Justin and Kyle (Colleen) Veris, Kristin Martin, Kara Boone, Ke’Ania Boone, Andrew Rhodes, Taylor and Aaron Edwards; great-grandfather of Sadie Vines, Luca and Londyn Veris, and Ella Kortan, and a host of special nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Claymond and Georgia Boone, brothers Jimmy, Robert, and Ted C. Boone, and sister Jane (Paul) Clark.
A memorial service will be held November 19, at 11:00 a.m., without viewing, at the Jaylex Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, OH 44511. Interment follows at the Hope Cemetery in Salem, OH at 1:00 pm, with friends and family gathering at Blue Wolf Tavern, Boardman, OH 44512 at 2:00 pm. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Association.
