Lynne S. (Shields) Filipic

Lynne S. Filipic, age 88, passed away August 19, 2025.

She was born December 17, 1936 in Logansport Indiana.

Beloved wife of the late Allen J. Filipic and former wife of Dr. Bernard “Don” Kenney.

Dear mother of Robert Kenney (Alicia), Kathleen Vokes (Tim), Maura Mihovk, (Daniel), Janet Kenney (Deceased), Joseph Kenney (Penny-Deceased), James Kenney (Diane), Maribeth Katt (Don), Allen C. Filipic and Mark Filipic.

Sibling to Janet Hricik (Jim-Deceased), William Shields (Donna), and Michael Shields (Janet).

With many grandchildren and great grandchildren including

James and Rebecca Prentiss

Jonathan, Jackie and Maura Vokes

Sarah and Mark Filipic.

Lea and Adam Katt.

Christa, Jimmy (deceased), Jamie, Erin, Valerie, Georgie Ben and Alex Kenney and Dylan Church.

Lynne moved to Ohio at an early age and later attended St. Josephs Academy in Rocky river where she made many friends for life.

She married Don and had 6 children in 7 years. She lost one child, Janet, married her second husband, Al, and gained 3 more kids.

She worked as a Dermatologists assistant, then for Schreibman’s Jewelers.

Lynne travelled many places, the latest was a trip to South Africa with friends. She loved her garden and adored her kids, grandkids and her entire family and many friends.

She was an inspiration to us all, filled with kindness, wisdom and grace.

Service is Sunday, August 24, 2025 from Noon until 3:00 pm at Baker Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front St. Berea, OH 44017. 

Afterwards friends and family will meet at Columbia Hills Country Club at 4:00 pm
