Miriam I (Baer) Wertz

MIRIAM  WERTZ  (nee Baer) passed away peacefully at home December 14, 2020 in Berea at age 99.  Born and raised in Temperance, MI near Toledo OH, sister to Margaret Grochowski and Warren Baer (both deceased).   She was the beloved wife of Harmon Wertz (deceased) and she is survived by her daughter Kristine Wertz and son McKim Wertz.  She also leaves two granddaughters: Patricia Spence and Corinne Wertz and two great-granddaughters: Josie and Camille Spence.  There are also several nieces and nephews and their children as well. She loved classical music and studied piano at Toledo Conservatory and Baldwin Wallace.  She was a long time Berea resident who was active in many social organizations including Berea Summer Theatre BW-ILR and various bridge groups.  She worked many years in the Registrars’ Office at Baldwin Wallace and she was a 65 year member of the BQ Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.  She also loved her dogs-Kiska and Echo and her cat-Clyde.  There will be a private service and burial in Dalton, OH.  Donations may be made to P.E.O.
