NORBERTO GONZALEZ, age 76, beloved husband of the late Deborah; loving father of Tina Sadie-Gonzalez, Lisa Gonzalez, and Norberto “Poncho” Gonzalez Jr. (April); dear grandfather of Christina Jockers (Matthew), Louis Sadie, Michael Sadie, Scarlett Gonzalez, and Zoie Gonzalez; great-grandfather of Samuel Jockers and Jacob Jockers; dear uncle to many and friend to all. To meet Norberto was to meet a friend.
Dearest son of Mercedes and Manuel Gonzalez, both deceased. Dear brother of Isabel Lozano, Jose Manuel Gonzalez, Tony Gonzalez, and the late Rev. Pedro Juan Gonzalez.
Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Norberto came to Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 10. He built a life centered around family, hard work, and the things he loved most. Beyond the love he had for his family, his greatest passion was his race car, a source of pride and enjoyment throughout his life.
Norberto was also a compassionate advocate for all living things. He could often be found visiting Riverside Cemetery, where he faithfully cared for and fed the animals while spending time at the grave of his beloved wife, Deborah. His kindness and gentle spirit extended not only to those he loved, but to every creature he encountered.
Friends may call on Saturday June 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Baker Kensinger Funeral Home 206 Front St. Berea where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. followed with burial at the Riverside Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio.
