With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Renee Jean Hookway. She died on February 1st, 2026 at the age of 62. She grew up in Parma, Ohio and graduated from Valley Forge High School. She lived in North Royalton. Renee enjoyed working as a printer after graduation. She then worked with individuals with disabilities. Most recently, she still shared her love of compassion and worked being a care giver for the elderly.
Sweet Renee was known for her love, kindness, strength and humor. She loved every holiday and decorated not only her home but made sure her loved ones were decorated too.
She had a love of nature and all four-legged fur babies. She had a special way of making people laugh and listened without judgement. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Her loving spirit touched many more lives then she will ever know. Renee is preceded in death by her father Bruce Jack Hookway, her loving wife Roxsand Zima, her beloved mother Carol Jean Hookway (Stolley), her loving sister Deann Kenik (Michael), her beloved nephew Brandon M. Kenik, her niece Delaney A. Kenik, her stepchildren Lauren (Michael) and Jacob Zima , and her treasured grandchildren, Blake and Dylan. She will be missed by many friends and family especially her cousin Lynda Meyer.
She loved Winnie the Pooh the most, and whether you know the stories or not “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”. Every quote magnifies her beautiful, caring heart. “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”.
We will all surely miss her love, light and laughter. Until we see you again, Renee, we love you forever and a day.
