Rev. James Purdy Obituary

Reverend James Kenneth Purdy (91) of Berea, Ohio passed away September 24, 2023. Born in Glenmont, Ohio on October 27, 1931 to Lawrence and Grace Bell Purdy and married Donna Young. Was a Minister of the Gospel, having received a Master of Divinity degree and was the Pastor of Olmsted Christian Church for 33 years (1963-1996). He was an Air Force Veteran, who served during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Donna (nee Young), Reverend Purdy is survived by seven children; Kenneth Purdy (Deborah); Teresa Bade (Larry); Constance Bowen (Douglas); Timothy Purdy (Kelley, deceased); Heidi Ferrini (Roy); Hayley Makowski (Keith); Adam Purdy (Marie); thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Betty Geitgey (Al) both deceased, Roger Purdy (Gleena), Janice Welsh (Jim-deceased), Gloria Frazier (Lincoln-deceased), Sharon Boldman (Jim), Shelia Keener, and Jerry Purdy-deceased. Final resting place, Nashville Methdosit Church Cemetery, Nashville, Ohio. All services will be private.
