Robert Lawrence Ledinsky

ROBERT LAWRENCE LEDINSKY age 74, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio passed away on October 10, 2023. Born on August 7, 1949 to Robert and Isabelle Ledinsky. Beloved husband of Kimberly and the late Judith.  Dear father of Jennifer (Gerred) Ayres and Robert J., “B.J.” (Meghan) Ledinsky, brother of Cheryl DiFeo, Denise Gubanyor and Richard Ledinsky.  Devoted grandfather to Katie, Mike, Sean and Bob.

Upon his graduation from Chanel High School in 1967 in Bedford, Ohio, Bob joined the Army as a paratrooper and proudly served his country with the 82nd Airborne Division in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge in 1971, Bob attended flight school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida where he began an illustrious flying career that spanned over five decades and 10,000+ flying hours. He started out as a pilot and dispatcher hauling freight in Twin Bonanza and Twin Beech aircraft then moved on to flying the de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver and the Grumman G-21 Goose to fishing camps in the Canadian Bush. Later he moved into corporate aviation and flew Beechcraft King Air, Lear, Beech 400 and Cessna Citation aircraft for various companies. Throughout his life Bob had many careers, known to some as Captain Carpet, he was a carpet installer and even served as a mail carrier for the post office, but these all led him to aviation, his true passion. As a lifelong aviator and airplane enthusiast he helped many friends start their own flying careers.

Bob was an exceptionally good guy, a true gentleman, a man among men who touched many lives. He was a kind, loving and devoted husband and father, he will be missed beyond measure by more people than he could ever possibly know.

Family and friends may call on Sunday October 15 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Baker, Osinki, Kensinger Funeral Home 206 Front St. Berea, Ohio where a service will be held at 5:00 p.m. following calling hours. After the service a reception will be held at the West Side Irish American Club in the Abbey Room 8559 Jennings Rd. Olmsted Twp, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Greater Cleveland Fisher House for Veterans.
