Robert L. Wilson (Bob) 77 of New London, Ohio went to sleep in Jesus Thursday September 4, 2025 at his home following a most recent diagnosis of AML.
Born October 15, 1947 in Hickory, NC to the late Robert O. and Pauline S. Wilson, he was affectionately known as “Peewee” or “Pete”.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years Leigh A. Wilson, daughter Robin Burch of Lehigh Acres, FL, son Kevin Wilson of Elyria, OH, half brother Thomas Ashby of Dry Ridge, KY eight grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren and many cherished cousins, friends and neighbors.
He proudly served in the Army 3 and a half years and truly valued the experience which shaped his life. He was employed at Gel-Pak, Lorain / Sysco Food Service, Cleveland from 1972 until his retirement in 2017. He then Briefly worked at Denes Concrete and HIQ Home Improvements. He always exemplified strong work ethics, attention to detail and had a knack for problem solving. His passion was helping others, often putting their needs before his own, even until the very end. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, listening to music, fishing and spending time with friends and family; especially his trips to NC for beach vacations and family reunions. He loved going to breakfast at his favorite restaurant, Fox Den, Wellington.
He was a devoted husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed by many whose lives will never be the same without him in it. We were truly blessed by his presence.
A Celebration of Life for Ohio will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the New Russia Township - Meeting Room 46300 Butternut Ridge Rd., Oberlin, OH 44074.
