ROGER LUFKIN SMITH, resident of Berea, Ohio from 1954 until June 3, 2020. He was a test facilities engineer at the NASA Glenn Research Center for most of his career, also having been a lab manager at the Eaton Corp. for 14 years. He enjoyed music participation by singing, directing, and playing the French horn. His later employment at Suburban Clock in Berea was his retirement fun. He was an active member of his church, most recently at The First Church in Oberlin, United Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Joan Wagner Smith, son-in-law Bryan L. Pollak and children, Jacob Smith Pollak and Lauren Elizabeth Pollak of Weston, Florida, Daughter Cynthia A. Smith Dubin, her husband Drake of London, England and their children, Piers Smith Dubin and Will Taylor Dubin. Brother of Betty Jean Green (nee Smith) of Madison, Ohio. Preceded in death by daughter Carley J. Smith Pollak. There will be a Memorial Service at First Church UCC in Oberlin at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or Compassion and Choices.
