Ronald William Schneider

It is with great sadness that Ronald William Schneider of Ashland, Ohio, passed away on July 8th 2024

Ron, Was born October 17th 1934 to the late William Sr. and Helen Schneider in Rocky River, Ohio. 

After Ron graduated from his hometown Rocky River, he spent the next few years studying Agriculture at The Ohio State University where he would meet his late wife Janice. 

Ron and Jan went on to have 4 wonderful Children who he is survived by Robert (Pam), David, Beth Gaspar (Vincent) and Mark. Along with them are his 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 

Through the years of his life, dedicated and hardworking was one of the many qualities and traits Ron was known for. Beginning with his family name originating in Rocky River with the first “glass’ greenhouse in the early 1920’s. Starting off by selling out their homegrown vegetables at the infamous West Side Market. Later expanding the W.F.Schneider’s and Sons to the floral community when settling down in Strongsville, Ohio late 1960’s. 

For multiple generations they were well known for their gorgeous Easter lilies, mums and during the holiday time it was the vibrant poinsettias. Ron’s love for horticulture was more than just a livelihood it was one of his many hobbies he was exceptional at. Traveling whether near or far was also another enjoyment of his he previously spent with his late wife but continued to enjoy following her passing. It was very much expected as well as enjoyable all who made his Christmas card list to reach in our mailboxes and see his name knowing there was going to be a breathtaking image of his most memorable adventure that year. Sharing his stories of travel to friends and families during gatherings is something to be surely missed. He will always be remembered as a kind and quiet hardworking loving man who always had a smile upon his face. 

Ron was preceded in death by both his parents and siblings William (Beverly) and Beverly (Dr. Lee Kulis) 

A viewing is set to be held at Baker Osiniski Kensinger Funeral Home of 206 Front St. Berea Ohio on Friday July 19th 2024 from the hours of 6:00 -9:00 pm
