Rose S. Schweda

Rose was born on March 1, 1927 and passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. She was a native of Elyria, Ohio and the wife of the late John C. Schweda.  Rose attended and graduated from Elyria High School, recipient of the National Society Award, graduated from Oberlin School of Commerce, and was employed by Elyria Savings and Trust.  From 1964 - 1984 Rose was the Assistant Director of Alumni/Parents Relations at BW College, Berea, Ohio.  She was also a member of Riverside Golf Course and an active member of St. Mary's Church in Berea, Ohio. Rose participated in many fund-raising events and belonged to the Red Hat Ladies in Berea.  Surviving: Cynthia Hosmer, the late Thomas C., the late Daniel J., and two grandsons John Ballenger and Michael Ballenger, both of Colorado.

Rose’s funeral will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 250 Kraft St., Berea, Ohio on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 A.M         . 

Visitation will take place 30 minutes prior to mass. Interment will be at Woodvale Cemetery Middleburg Hts., Ohio on Monday, February 16th at 2:00 pm. Rose kindly requested that flowers should not be sent.
