Seems like a lifetime, chasing after that big Greyhound, and even after 43 years, and as it was meant to be, the bus company survived - Mr. Miller did not.
Roy A. Miller, age (100) passed away May 23, 2026 at the Western Reserve Masonic Home, Medina Ohio.
Mr. Miller’s sole work experience dealt with intercity Motor Bus Transportation achieving several management and supervisory positions.
His wife of 65 years, Bette P. Miller, preceded him in death in 2011. Mr. Miller was born in Altoona, PA 11/11/25, the first of 3 sons to Jackson Harry Miller and Helen Viola Gunsallus. One younger brother remains, Edward L. Miller of Ft. Myers, FL. His youngest brother, Jackson E. Miller, of Greenville, SC, succumbed in 2018.
Roy Miller is survived by three devoted and beloved children, Douglas A. of Austin TX, Nelson L. of Harrisonburg, VA and daughter Ms. Paula M. DiSabella of Waterford, CT. Roy Miller was grandfather to six children - 3 boys by son Nelson and Ms. Nancy DeBruhl Miller, named Adam, Jonathan and Bradley.
Son-in-Law Carl DiSabella and wife Paula M. are parents of 3 children; son Nicholas and daughters Alison and Gina of Connecticut. None to the oldest son Douglas and his companion and dear wife Kathy Muenchow Miller.
Roy Miller travelled extensively, but maintained his home on 4th Avenue in Berea for 40 years. He loved Berea, attended many civic and school functions, and for 8 years was Republican Ward leader.
Acknowledging the blessings of the Deity, Mr. Miller often confided - “In all things, praise God.” He was a longtime member of the United Methodist church of Berea. He was a 71 year member of the Masonic fraternity - holding dual memberships as Past Master of Zion Lodge #1 of Detroit, Mi, as well as an officer with Quarry Lodge No. 382, F. & A.M. of Berea, OH. He was a member of New Hope, Eastern Star Chapter #590 in Berea.
Visitation will be Thursday May 28, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Baker Kensinger Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be Friday May 29.2026 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Cemetery in North Olmsted.
