William G. Clements

William G. Clements of Berea, Ohio passed away on May 16, 2024, aged 97. He was born on January 29, 1927 to the late William and Anna Clements in Berea, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his older sisters Rhea Clements of Berea and Lorna Robinson of Cleveland. A lifelong resident of Ohio, Bill graduated from Berea High School, class of 1945, lived in North Royalton, Parma and Elyria before returning to Berea. A natural salesperson, Bill held various positions over the years from Jackson's Diner near Cleveland Airport to Nabisco, to Witco Oil, to Amway. “Uncle Bill” as he was known to all that knew him, was also a Boy Scout leader, taught Sunday School, led his church choir, and was a counselor at Apple Creek Home for boys. His last sales position was at Parma Hardware where he stared a window screen repair business. He took leaves of absence during the summer so that the area high school and college students could join the store to have summer employment. Bill would return to work each autumn when the students returned to classes.

Bill was the proud founder of the historical and informational group, “Berea back When” in conjunction with the Berea Public Library. He hosted monthly meetings, events and speakers for evenings of education and nostalgia.

Uncle Bill was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed introducing his many nephews to the lakes around Ohio and Canada with his own boat and canoe for fishing expeditions. Uncle Bill also guided his nephews with his handyman knowledge over the years.

Bill is survived by Nephew Bill Robinson of Cleveland, nephew Dr. David Robinson (Peggy) of Alliance, Ohio and niece Becky Robinson of Katy Texas. Also great nieces Kate and Elizabeth Robinson and great-great nephews Toivo and Indrek Siiman as well as nephews Bob and Craig Neiterriter and Dave Kuhner.

Friends may call on Wednesday May 22 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home 206 Front St. Berea where a funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. following calling hours.
