William ‘Bill’ B. Dorner, 92, departed our earthly realm to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 1, 2026, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the high school sweetheart and beloved Husband of sixty-five years to Gloria ‘Lorie’ J. Colvin Dorner, deceased 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Dorner. He was the loving father of William S. Dorner, Barbara Dorner Cousins (Dan), and John P. Dorner (Dr. Holly Perzy); dear grandfather of Daniel P. Cousins (Rachel), Caitlyn Cousins and Christine Cousins; loving great grandfather of Madilyn Cousins. He was a devoted brother to Kenneth Dorner (Katherine), both deceased, Jerry Dorner, deceased (Margaret) and brother-in-law to Jim Colvin (Beth), Bob Colvin (Susie) and loving Uncle/Great Uncle to many.
Though Bill lived in Louisiana, Texas and Louisiana (again), his family roots and home resided in Ohio, Parma and Berea. He served in the U.S Naval Reserves and remained a proud veteran loving meeting new people and talking with them while wearing his Navy hat. Bill’s goal was to always bring a smile to someone and make them laugh. He had a great voice and since his time in High School, loved to sing and entertain. His hobbies were repairing everything, building model kits of planes and ships while understanding everything about each and every one. Bill’s love for traveling began with and continued beyond his retirement after 30 years of service from American Airlines. He was an avid sports fan, always rooting on his favorite teams: Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, LSU Tigers, OSU Buckeyes, OU Bobcats and BGSU Falcons. Bill’s faith was deep as he loved his Lord passionately and would openly share his faith in Christ with others. To his family and friends, he was known as being truly kind, humorous, nurturing, and inspirational. He will be deeply missed by many but his heart, smile and spirit that touched so many will continue to live on through them.
