William (Bill) Pierce passed away peacefully on November 8, 2024. He passed away just two weeks after his beloved wife Elizabeth. William leaves behind his daughter Susan Goodman (Glenn) and many grandchildren including: Justin Carson (Rachel), Paul Goodman (Heidi), Joseph Carson, Elizabeth Kannel (Steve), Jillian Carson, Anna Goodman and Jesse Mambuca. He also leaves behind great grandchildren, London Carson, Emma Goodman, Conner Kannel and Charlotte Carson.
William was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings and his children Donald and Betsy.
William was an army veteran and he spent his career working for NASA and retired long ago. He as a proud Ohio State University graduate and avid OSU football fan. In 1963, he stepped into Bep’s life when her first husband died suddenly, leaving her with three children ages 6 and under. He became a loving father and much later grandfather to all of his family. Bill and Bep were married for 61 years and left this life within two weeks of each other.
Bill and Bep spent their summers in Aylen Lake, Ontario. Bill built this home from the ground up and even this past summer he was still tinkering and improving it. This space became a gathering point for all of his family members who spent many summers fishing, swimming and water skiing together. This past summer Bill was pleased to be awarded “Oldest person” at the annual Aylen Lake Regatta. Bill spent his winters in Ohio and was an active member of Berea United Methodist Church.
A Service to celebrate the lives of both Bill and Bep will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 11 a.m. the United Methodist Church of Berea.The family invites all to stay for a light lunch following the service.
