Was saddened to just learn of Dr. Moore's passing. What a great history professor and an even better human being. He really challenged those of us in his classes to "actually learn from history" and to take these teaching to heart for our own lives. Thank you Dr. Moore!

Dr. Moore was not only an excellent teacher he was a fine human being. He instilled a love of history in me that led me into a career of teaching. When he told you, "It's good to see you" you felt that he truly meant it. Always smiling, he will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dr. Moore was truly a great teacher, especially in the realm of Church History. I had him for Renaissance & Reformation History and I learned a great deal from his vast knowledge on the subject. He was indeed one of my favorite history teachers at BW.

Ed was a first cousin that I have had a special fondness for ever since my teenage years.. He and his parents welcomed me into their home when I came from Guatemala alone., and Ed included me often in his mountain climbing expeditions, and even allowed me to learn to drive his jalopy named "Chloe". I was even a privileged chaperone when he and GL went on an engagement trip.!

Dr. Moore hired my in 1996 and we spent well over 40 as colleagues.. I have fond memories of Ed, and the other co-workers in the then Department of History - They were very good times.. To steal a favorite phrase of Ed’s and tailor it to this sad time:: “IT WAS SO NICE TO SEE YOU. LOU BARONE

Dr. Moore was an incredible professor. His Renaissance & Reformation class was one of my favorite and most fondly remembered classes in the history department. His passion for history and his commitment to his students made me proud to be a BW history major. He will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
